STRATEGIC GOALS //

Education

Through research-led and innovative teaching, we provide our students with the best tools to position themselves in the national and international labour market and to work on solving social challenges in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

We focus on high-quality further development of our existing educational programmes as well as on moderate growth in the technical, natural science and health science degree programmes. The organisation of the study programmes is oriented towards the different lifestyles of our students.

Goal 1: Educational programmes designed for the future

We develop future-oriented, practice-based and competence-oriented curricula, which are didactically and organisationally innovative. In this way, we ensure the professional and social connectivity of our students. The contents of our educational programmes are regularly reviewed and further developed involving our stakeholders. Appropriate external accreditations and rankings increase international visibility. In continuing education, we focus on university courses in the health sciences, tailor-made programmes for companies and cooperation with already established providers in the higher education sector.

Goal 2: Successful implementation of educational programmes

Our educational programmes are successfully implemented through good teaching in terms of content and didactics, the use of innovative forms of teaching, appropriate test performance as well as comprehensive counselling and support for students. The final theses and course projects support the research focuses of the departments.

Goal 3: Internationalisation in all degree programmes

The curricula of all degree programmes include various elements of internationalisation.

Goal 4: Blended learning in all educational programmes

We sustainably anchor the teaching and learning concept of “blended learning” in all degree programmes. In doing so, we combine classroom teaching with synchronous and asynchronous forms of e-learning in a didactically sensible way and adapted to the respective target groups. We do not limit any degree programmes exclusively to distance learning.

All forms of e-learning used serve to make the educational offers more flexible in terms of time and place and promote the exchange with transnational programmes.

Goal 5: High acceptance of educational offers

All educational programmes have a high level of acceptance in the education and job market. A high number of applications for each study place ensure qualitative admission as well as full utilisation of the study programmes. The high employment rate of our graduates in the national and international job market reflects the quality and topicality of our educational programmes.

Goal 6: Further development of the transnational programmes

The existing offer of transnational programmes will be evaluated and qualitatively further developed. We aim at moderately expanding the range of transnational degree programmes and courses in the fields of tourism and export. In this context, cooperation agreements will be negotiated with renowned partner universities, which contributes to the positive international reputation of IMC Krems.
